Advanced Centre for Atmospheric Radar Research (ACARR)

Advanced Centre for Atmospheric Radar Research (ACARR), part of the Department of Atmospheric Sciences at CUSAT, is a premier research centre for tropical atmospheric studies. Established in 2015, it operates a cutting-edge Stratosphere–Troposphere radar and a comprehensive suite of remote-sensing and instrumentation facilities—including radar systems, automatic weather stations, and an RF electronics lab. ACARR supports Ph.D., postdoctoral, and dissertation-level research, led by distinguished scientists such as Dr. Abhilash S. and Dr. Manoj M.G. The centre fosters scientific outreach through conferences and lecture series, striving to join observational data with advanced atmospheric modeling while serving as a global hub for monsoon research.
